The show will be held in beautiful Portland, Oregon in May, 2013. There
are a number of things to do within walking distance of the show, and a number of interesting activities are available by the local Max lightrail system.

May is a particular beautiful time of year in Portland and your visit to the
PIPEX show should be a pleasant one.

The following are all within close distance of the Red Lion Hotel on the River. The hotel is located on Jantzen Beach close to the Oregon Convention Center, Rose Garden Arena and Portland Memorial Coliseum as well as the Lloyd Center Shopping Mall. Within walking distance, guests can enjoy world-class entertainment, tax-free shopping at specialty boutique shops as well as national brand stores and of course, Portland's renown culinary scene with endless dining options. Portland's popular attraction OMSI - the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is just a few blocks away. Right across the river, accessable via the Max train.

The Rose Quarter is the home of the Trail Blazers, Winter Hawks and LumberJax. It includes the 20,000-seat Rose Garden, the 12,000-
seat Memorial Coliseum, the 6,500-seat Theater of the Clouds, the
40,000-square foot Exhibit Hall and the Rose Quarter Commons.
Oregon Zoo

The Oregon Zoo has over 25 exhibits open to the public ranging from the "Great Northwest" to the "Africa Rainforest". There is always something new and exciting to see at the Oregon Zoo!

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (commonly referred to as OMSI) is a museum located in Portland, Oregon. It contains two auditoriums, a planetarium, an IMAX Dome theatre, and a variety of hands-on permanent exhibits focused on natural sciences, industry, and technology. Transient exhibits span a wider range of disciplines. A great place to visit!

Rose Test Garden

Operated by the City of Portland Parks and Recreation Department, these 4.5 acres of over 10,000 different rose plants start blooming in early May and can last up until November. The Rose Test Garden is made possible with support from the Portland Rose Society, the Royal Rosarians, Portland Rose Festival Association and other civic groups.

The Portland Art Museum is open six days a week and offers such things as lectures, tours and art activities. They have special offerings on a regular basis

  World Forestry Center Museum

The World Forestry Center is a non-profit educational institution, founded in 1964 in Portland, Oregon. They are dedicated to educating and informing people about the world's forests and trees, and their importance to all life, in order to promote a balanced and sustainable future.
PCPA   Portland Center for Performing Arts

PCPA is a premier arts and entertainment venue in the Pacific Northwest offering live music and theater in 4 halls, featuring over 900 yearly events.
Oregon Historical Society   Oregon Historical Society

The Oregon Historical Society is known for preserving, collecting, and publishing Oregon's multicultural history through museum exhibitions, research collections, and publications.

Chinese Garden

  Portland Classical Chinese Garden

The Chinese Garden is the size of one city block containing an 8,000 square foot lake, Tai Hu limestone rocks, a Tea House and a Gift Store. Created to nurture and inspire all who visit, this Garden is little changed from what might have greeted you during the Ming Dynasty in China. A lovely serene place in the middle of a bustling city.

Market   Portland Saturday Market

Operating since 1974 the Portland Saturday Market is the largest continually operating outdoor arts and crafts market in the nation. Centered in Portland’s historic Old Town the Market is one of the most popular shopping destinations for local handcrafted goods. They feature live entertainment, food booths and many unusual, handcrafted items. Open March 5th - every Saturday and Sunday. An exciting FREE event right along the waterfront.

Powell's City of Books is a book lover's paradise, the largest used and new bookstore in the world. Located in downtown Portland, Oregon, and occupying an entire city block, the City stocks more than a million new and used books, and boasts 68,000 square feet packed with books. Nine color coded rooms house over 3,500 different sections, offering something for every interest, including an incredible selection of out-of-print and hard-to-find titles.

The City's Rare Book Room gathers autographed first editions and other collectible volumes for readers in search of a one-of-a-kind treasure.
